Catholic Charities Dallas hosted its 26th Annual Bishop’s Gala at the Omni Dallas Hotel on Jan. 20. Attendees participated in live and silent auctions to raise funds benefiting thousands of clients within CCD’s nine-county service area. Last year alone, CCD provided services, resources, and education to over 200,000 individuals through the collective efforts of CCD’s staff, thousands of volunteers, and other nonprofit collaborators.

Mary Lynn and Fred Bangs and Marguerite and Michael Marz served as the 26th Annual Bishop’s Gala Co-Chairs. CCD was honored to have the Most Reverend Gregory Kelly, Auxiliary Bishop of Dallas, serve as Honorary Chair.

“It is an honor for us to be able to further the missions of CCD through the Bishop’s Gala,” said Mary Lynn and Fred Bangs. “We admire CCD’s work to identify the most vital needs in our community and expand their work to efficiently and effectively address those needs.”

Marguerite and Michael Marz added, “We find inspiration in the compassionate work Catholic Charities accomplishes through their 11 mission programs. We strongly believe in the mission of CCD, the staff, and the exceptional results they deliver to the community.”

As the largest fundraising event for CCD, the annual Bishop’s Gala raises more than $2 million each year to support CCD’s more than 35 programs and eleven missions of service, including care for seniors and unaccompanied minors, financial literacy, education, healthcare, hunger, immigration, adoption, refugee resettlement, disaster, and homeless services.

“There is more work to do in 2024,” said Dave Woodyard, president and CEO of CCD. “The needs continue to grow due to economic hardships, chronic illness, job loss, and more. The Bishop’s Gala allows us to inspire our community by sharing the recent milestones we have achieved and our plans to amplify our impact in the future.”
