Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga of Honduras, head of the council of eight special cardinals advising Pope Francis on the future of the Catholic Church, will deliver the keynote address at the seventh annual University of Dallas Ministry Conference on Friday, Oct. 25.

Cardinal Rodríguez will deliver the keynote in English on Friday morning and will repeat it in Spanish later that afternoon. The two-day UDMC is being held at the Irving Convention Center and is sponsored by the dioceses of Dallas and Fort Worth.

At this year’s event, attendees will hear national and internationally known speakers who are experts in their fields in the topics of theology, ministry, science, social justice and scripture.

Scheduled sessions include discussions on important topics such as scripture, marriage, family, liturgy and religious education as well as many sessions for Catholic school educators. In addition to a full lineup of speakers, the conference will feature more than 100 exhibitors. The conference will also showcase the talent of local and national Catholic musicians. Breakout sessions will be held in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
