Jennifer Blum, a 2013 graduate of Ursuline Academy, has been named as a U.S. Lacrosse Girls High School First Team All-American selection.

Blum, a goalie, is the second Ursuline lacrosse player to earn the honor. Casey Boyle received the award as a senior in 2009.

In addition to the All-American honor, Blum was named, for the second consecutive year, to the 2013 Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League All-State Team along with Ursuline seniors Mary Kate Nawalaniec, Emily Garden and Emily Merkel.

The Ursuline Academy lacrosse team finished the 2013 season with a 20-3 overall record, advancing to the TGHSLL state championship game where it was defeated by Houston St. John.

Blum is one of two Ursuline lacrosse players from the 2013 team who will continue their careers at the NCAA Division I level. Blum will attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall while midfielder Emily Merkel will attend Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
